The Joy of Christmas

January 5th, 2010

The New Year has started and most that made resolutions have probably broken them already. I never make them.

The holiday was great! We spent it in Richmond, VA (our primary home), had lots of folk for dinner Christmas Day and the Day after (siblings, children, nieces & friends). Not a real problem for me because my husband does 90% of the cooking. He thoroughly enjoys cooking and I enjoy being the one who tries his new dishes. Both daughters were home from NYC for 5 days with a 3-year-old granddaughter and a 3-year-old grandson. The grands are about 2 months apart in age. What a lively household! They were a joy to have around. To add to the joy my cousin/ best friend from childhood spent 6 days with me. We shared many experiences from childhood.

For me that’s what Christmas is all about – giving, sharing and giving thanks for all that I have and too often take for granted.
Happy New Year to all. May it be a healthy and prosperous one!
